The Selection~ The Elite~ The One

I bring you the selection series.  The battle of love.   In Kiera Cass's (the author) idea of the future includes a kingdom named Illéa which is divided into 35 provinces.  This happened when the United States was taken over by China and became New China.   Then after a while a rich man Gregory Illéa, who was, as I said, rich and he had a beautiful family.  Eventually he owned most of New China took from the US.   Gregory was announced king and then the castes were introduced.  The story takes place to generations after these events, with his great-great nephew King Clarkson Schreave and his wife Amberly Schreave.  Neither of them are the star nothing like Prince Maxon.   The next king to be and is in need of a new wife.

Part of the tradition in Illéa is that princesses are married off to other princes to form allies and princes get a selection of girls from their 35 provinces.   One girl is chosen from each province to have a chance to marry the prince.

Now I get to introduce my all time favourite character, America Singer.  America is a caste 5, and secretly in love with Aspen a 6.  No one is allowed dating in this country.  You sort of just get married.  5's are the artistic caste.  They sing, paint, take photos etc.  America sings and is very musical, not to mention very pretty.  She has flaming red hair that matches her temper and pale white skin like snow.  She doesn't want to enter the Selection like her mother pleases because of her secret romance with Aspen.  When Aspen begs her to enter, things have ended between them for what feels like forever, and America does enter because of Aspen.  Things turn into her living nightmare, she has been Selected as one of Maxon's 35 girlfriends.

As for the rest of the books it's a battle between Aspen and Maxon, not to mention the other girls. Who will she love and who is willing to be just friends?

This book is so awesome and cute.  I'm right now into all the princess stuff and have no clue why.  The Selection series isn't all princess, its very dramatic and gruesome.  The book has it's twist and turns that make you angry and upset.  It is just amazing and I fell in love with every single character.

Aspen and Maxon's never ending love for America makes me wish that some day some guy would do the same for me.  I love the things that Maxon always says to America especially in the last book, "The One".  It's so sweet I cried and melted and just eep it's so adorable.

Rate: 10/10
The book is just perfect I couldn't even decide who I wanted her to be with.
Comment: "It's page turner full of romance and life changing decisions."
Favourite quote:
The Selection : "I felt a smile on his lips, and it lingered for a long time after."
The Elite: "I'd make a better princess then she would..."
The One: "This isn't happily ever after.  It's so much more then that."
