Some religions are hard to understand especially when aren't they your religion. Sometimes it's easier to understand when it's explained when it's a completely different topic used to explain. Like Winnie the Pooh. Yes, A. A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh. You don't know exactly who I'm talking about? Look on the right. The yellow bear, with the red shirt, and the pot of honey? That's Winnie the Pooh, sometimes referred as Pooh Bear or even just Pooh. In Benjamin Hoff's novel about Taoism and Pooh, there is no actual plot. He basically explains Taoism in a less complex format and uses Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Woods to learn about the religion.
People often said it was crazy to use a Western theme with a Eastern religion that it would just be confusing. But I learned so much about Taoism. There seems to be something calming about this idea, this Way that things are done.
My biggest problem was that there were things that were capitalized that didn't need to be, but after a bit I realized that they are titles. Things that are done or explained in Taoism. Other then that miss understanding this book has taught me a lot about this way of life, and I think it's fairly interesting. I can't wait to post next week about the Te of Piglet by Benjamin Hoff!

Comment: "Easy way to learn about something foreign and easier to understand then in the original text then translated."
Favourite Quote: (This whole book had really good quotes and it was so hard to pick just one! But I did, so it's all good!) "Taoist understanding changes what others may perceive as negative into something positive. From the Taoists point of view, sourness and bitterness come from inferring and unappreciative mind, Life itself when understood and utilized for what is sweet."
Keeping it short and sweet, just like me!! xx
